$5.5 Million – Pedestrian Accident Pedro Rios v. City of Los Angeles
We represented a client in his mid-seventies who was severely injured when a vehicle being driven by a public entity employee struck him while he was in a cross-walk. The vehicle was maintained, owned, controlled and operated by a city and its employees. The defendants denied Rios's allegations and asserted various affirmative defenses, including that the accident was caused by Rios's own negligence. With our co-counsel, the Homampour Law Firm, we obtained a $5.5 million settlement from the public entity in 2014.
