$300,000 Settlement After Insurance Carrier Previously Offered Half as Much
Greenberg and Ruby Injury Attorneys obtained a $300,000 settlement for a delivery driver who suffered orthopedic injuries when the small delivery truck he was driving was struck by another truck in San Luis Obispo County.
Our firm was brought into the case just a few months before trial because the insurance carrier was refusing to offer what was considered a fair settlement.
Our client was working as a delivery driver and driving a small delivery truck on a rural roadway. Another truck attempted to pass him and struck his vehicle.
Our client suffered orthopedic injuries but did not undergo surgery.
Settlement Doubled After We Entered the Case
Before Greenberg and Ruby Injury Attorneys became involved, the insurance carrier had offered $150,000 to settle the claim.
We were brought in to try the case and began preparing to move the matter forward. Shortly after becoming involved, we were able to obtain a $300,000 settlement, twice the insurance carrier's previous offer.
The result illustrates the difference that trial preparation can make when an insurance company refuses to offer reasonable compensation. Although we were prepared to take the case to trial, we were able to secure the increased settlement without requiring our client to go through the trial itself.
Result: $300,000 settlement
Previous offer: $150,000
Location: San Luis Obispo County, California
Accident: Delivery truck struck by another truck attempting to pass
Injuries: Orthopedic injuries, no surgery
